Location Contract

This is a contract that was signed by Steven Manzanero, who owned the location I filmed in. This was so that I could ensure that the location would be available for filming on 11th of October 2012. It also ensured that he understood what would be going on there, on the day.

Call Sheet

This is a copy of the call sheet that was given to all of the people participating in the creation of my music video. This is because it informed them on the events of the day, whom they would be working with, the scenes they would be working on and what they could expect to see. This prepared them for the scenes and allowed them to gather what they needed. Or, practice their acts.

Diary #24

Today I have been very busy completing many of the tasks I still need to complete. I have written a list so i can keep up with my time management and ensure that everything is done for my deadline.

I still need to:
- Finish and upload my anamatic
- Do final draft of music video - add filter light to make a more sepia effect

- Continue with Diary posts
- Do evaluation questions

This is not very much, as I have separated my tasks so that i Have aims for each week. If i stick to the aims I have set, these tasks should easily be completed by my deadline.

Today I have uploaded a short video of photographs of myself filming on the Sony HD camera. This proves that my video is all my own footage and my actors were directed by myself.

I have also uploaded my final two Music Magazine Adverts to my blog. I created both a landscape and portrait copy in order to be able to use the advert in places like billboards and bus stops.

I am currently in the process of uploading my first draft of my music video, as I had to make the file smaller as Blogger wouldn't let me upload the original copy I made.

Myself filming

This is a short video that I created in order to highlight that I filmed all of the footage within my music video. There are also shots of myself and the cast, proving that I chose the people within it carefully. The photographs show me using the Sony HD camera I filmed my music video on and also show me telling my actors what to do.

Music Video Draft One

This is the first draft of my music video. When filming it I ensured to gather as many shots as I could. I experimented with angles and contrasts. As you can see it begins with different shots of the location, as i wanted to make sure that it was clearly and Indie Folk music video, as it contains elements that will be recignised by my target audience. For example, the location of the forest, shots of nature, gleaming sunlight etc...
I have decided to create a narrative based music video as when reading through my questionairre results I found that most of my target audience enjoy getting into a story, rather than watching the singer/s perform, which is different in comparison to music such as Rock, where the target audience would enjoy watching performance based music videos as they enjoy gigs. The narrative follows a young girl, as my target audience is a younger audience.
This is only my first draft as now I intend to edit my music video as much as possible, in order to make the lighting and pace perfect. I will be using After Effects in order to add a suitable filter light. As my audience feed back suggested that I should focus on the lighting of my video, as the shots and order of narrative are near enough perfect.

Audience feedback on first draft of music video

POSITIVES:
  • The pace of the cuts of the shots complements the pace of the song you have used
  • The visuals are very high quality
  • The location fits perfectly with your genre of Indie Folk
  • The stoyline is grasping and represents the song lyrics
  • It has a fairytale feel to it, almost as if she is Red Riding Hood, or the mother is Rupunzal - locked in the castle
  • Costume and miseen scene have been cleverly thought about, considering the era you are trying to represent.
  • The subplot of the mother waiting for her daughter gives the music video a bit more thought.
TO IMPROVE:
  • The video is beautifully put together, however the 1950's era is not yet successfully portrayed. It might be due to the way the lighting is too bright. I suggest you use after effects to change the lighting a bit, add some special effects.
  • The lighing changes in some shots, perhaps After Effects editing uing filter lights could improve it slighly.

Diary #23

Today I decided to make a list of remaining tasks I have to complete, this will help ensure that I keep up with my time management and also my deadline of March 11, for all of my work to be in.
Today I began to complete these tasks, by creating a video on Adobe Premier Pro. It is a video of the photographs taken at the film shoot. The photos show myself using the camera, ordering my actors, setting up scenes. This makes it clear that all the footage was shot by me and also legit in terms of copying and originality. The video also includes an image of myself and my cast after the filming was over, as I feel it's important to portray I have a good relationship with my actors and they were happy to participate.
The videos I create that show this sort of footage, including my raw footage video are all accompanied by Indie Folk music, this is because I am constantly reinforcing my inspiration and the genre my video is attempting to portray.

Diary #22

For the past couple of weeks I have been very focused on finishing the first draft of my music video. After successfully filming it, I have been spending a lot of time editing it on Adobe Premier Pro. To do so I had to export all my my footage from tape to digital, then import it to the programme I am editing it on. I decided to go through my shots and decide what shots i will be using and what ones are badly shot, or lit. I then changed all the names of each clip, so that the editing process would be easier.
I have put all the shots together in a way that is paced well with my song "People Help The People". They show my main artist walking through the woods and then arriving at a house, having an argument with what the audience will assume is her mother and then running away. The video has a tragic ending, in order to suit the sad style of music and conotate the lyrics of the song, which talk about caring and how there should be more of it.
I have exported and am now going to focus a lot of my time on editing it on After Effects. I will use this programme to edit the lighting with filters and perhaps add some special effects. Either way, I am very happy with my first draft.
